Spring Flowers Wreath

April Showers, Bring May Flowers

I love the spring!! Just knowing the warm weather is on its way is enough for me to want to throw on a pair of flip flops and run outside to greet the sun. And with the sun comes all the pretty flowers! While my favorite flower is the daisy, there is something about tulips in all of their pretty colors that is just so irresistible and just announces “spring is here“.
So in honor of the tulip, and spring, I decided it was time to make a wreath for my door full of tulips.

Kate Spade inspired Glitter Frame

“She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes.” -Kate Spade

I make no secret about my love of all things Kate Spade! Between the sparkle and the bows and the polka dots! It’s all so girly and bright! And the fact that I can have Kate Spade for my daily bag, my shoes, in my kitchen and on my mantle it can be kind of hard to resist sometimes!! However; I realize that sometimes a frame is just a frame. And a frame covered in gold glitter is still just a frame covered in gold glitter- especially if it is without a Kate Spade ♠️ label on the front.

Conversation Hearts Door Hang

“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt” -Charles M. Schultz

Happy Valentines Day everybody!!! This really is one of my favorite months. What could be better than a month full of pink and red and hearts everywhere?!? Unfortunately the beginning of this month is just flying by and this pregnancy is really taking it all out of me. I didn’t get to make half of the Valentines crafts I planned on. So I guess I am going to have to save them for later on in the year, when I have more energy. Thank goodness hearts and love are in style everyday…am I right?!?
This is the only craft that I finished so I am going to post it before Valentines comes and goes!! My inspiration was of course, those classic Valentines day treats we all got in school during our Valentines Day card exchanges: Conversation Hearts!! While I never really cared to eat them, I always did enjoy reading the messages printed on them.

Candy Cane Bling Ornament

“On the final day of Christmas my true love gave to me….lots and lots of bling!!

Well maybe I’m just kidding about the lots and lots of bling part, but a girl can dream. I figured for my final ornament post of this Christmas season, I wanted to do something that was simple but that packed a lot of punch.

And what is more exciting than sparkle everywhere? Nothing, that’s what!

Kate Spade inspired ornament

Sometimes it is nice to get some pops of bright colors on the Christmas tree, that are more than the standard red and green and gold. And as far as I am concerned, Kate Spade rarely disappoints in that department!

For the Christmas season of last year, 2015, she released a clutch that looked like this:

Tiffany&Co. Inspired Ornament

Tiffany&Co. Inspired Ornament| Diamond White Daisies

I may not find any Tiffany blue under my tree this year, but at least I can have some Tiffany blue on my tree!

I always find it interesting to see how the final product of a project turns out compared to how I originally imagined it. Sometimes the project just does not work at all and other times what I thought would work turns out to be a complete fail.

When I first thought about this ornament, I was going to hand paint a white “ribbon” onto the ornament and then use an over-sized white satin bow in the middle. Well that idea (a) was really difficult to create and (b) just did not look right.

So it was onto plan B!! And with a couple of strips of small white satin ribbon and a little glue…my Tiffany & Co. inspired ornament finally came together!!

Holly Jolly Holly Ornament

“Have a Holly Jolly Christmas…”

Well, I am back with Day 3 of my 6 Days of DIY Christmas. This one may be my favorite ornament so far 🙂 . I found these really cute holly sequins at Michaels the other day. While I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with them, I knew that they would look really nice on some sort of Christmas project.
Holly leaves and berries are some of my favorite Christmas decorations (besides for the Christmas tree of course)! I think they are really pretty and add the perfect Christmas pop. I would still like to figure out more projects to do with these cute little sequins. But until then here is my Holly Jolly Holly Ornament!!

Williams-Sonoma Metallic Swirl Ornament

“On the Second Day of Christmas I DIYed… a Metallic Swirl Ornament”

The first time I saw these ornaments was last year. I was in the mall looking at everything Christmas. While in Williams-Sonoma, buying cookie cutters, I spotted their Metallic Swirl Ball Ornaments. It is a clear ornament with gold etching going around it in a ribbon-like fashion. While very pretty, at $75 for a pack of 4, I just couldn’t do it. Then the Christmas season passed and I forgot all about them.
Until the other day, when I was back at Williams-Sonoma and spooted them again!
So I went home and thought about how I would make my own version. I have yet to find a non-toxic etching set, so I knew that was out of the question.

My Non-Toxic Christmas: A Very Merry Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas Tree: Such Pleasure Do You Bring Me

I know it has been a while since I have posted and I sincerely apologize. Between computer problems and some family events that have taken place, it just has not been possible. However, I figured I would jump right in with some Christmas posts. I realize we still have almost two weeks until Thanksgiving, but hey if stores can start playing Christmas music the day after Halloween, I can start my Christmas crafts!
Christmas just isn’t Christmas without a big Christmas tree covered in sparkling bright lights and ornaments that tell a story about Christmas’ past and present. However, artificial Christmas trees are made from PVC and other toxic chemicals and then covered in flame retardants. So there will be no more artificial trees in my house. I do not want my children handling and breathing those toxic chemicals in.
